National:

Department rebrand of a rebrand.  In 1947, President Harry Truman established a full-time military and rebranded the Department of War as the Department of Defense.  President Dwight Eisenhower warned that the developing military-industrial complex could grow powerful if left unchecked.  President Donald Trump is looking to restore the department to its original name.  The organization is not for nation building, diplomacy or training missions.  War is death, destruction and for national survival.  Will he channel Ronald Regan’s “Peace Through Strength” thus projecting National military power without having to use it?

The “Deep State” is beginning to be unmasked.  The Institutional Bureaucracies made up of federal, law firms, think tanks and news rooms were complicit in undermining electoral legitimacy and interfering with national policy.   The Durham Annex, released by Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), and a Report publicized by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard has rendered further denial untenable.  An example of the Leviathan going astray?

Can President Trump protect the flag without trampling free speech?  This shouldn’t be about protecting the flag.  Maybe we should rephrase the question.    As long a your speech and/or actions don’t cause or incite harm to life and property, should you be able to burn the flag?

Our Libertarian National Committee Chair, Steven Nekhaila, is promoting “The Parity Project” which will implement the strategy “discovery before persuasion”.  The goal would be to bring libertarian, libertarian-leaning and libertarian-curious people into the Party.  It is a long term project to mimic the size of the two major parties that roughly have 68 million voters each.  Missouri is part of LNC Region 3 South and our representative is Keith Thompson with Jessi Cowart as an alternate.

State:

The 103rd General Assembly bills truly agreed to and finally passed for the 1st regular and extraordinary session.

State redistricting battles continue! Governor Kehoe has called a 2nd Extraordinary Session on Wednesday, September 3rd for the purposes of updating Missouri’s Congressional Districts. Our 5th Congressional District representative, Emanuel Cleaver, expresses his view here.

County:

The Jackson County Election Board announced that voting for the upcoming Special Recall Election on Tuesday, September 30th began August 19th. The full schedule can be found here.

City:

St. Louis  will be receiving one of the largest per capita infusions of full-time FBI agents and intel personnel in the nation.  This infusion of resources into St. Louis will increase the Bureau’s violent crime fighting capacities.  It also represents a permanent investment by the current administration into St. Louis, bringing staffing levels at the FBI to its highest point in years.
