Description | The Missouri LP is at an important fork in the road as a political party. For many years, the Missouri LP participated in the Unified Membership Program (UMP) with the National LP. Under UMP, the National LP maintained paid party memberships and transferred a portion of those fees to the Missouri LP. UMP payments were a significant portion of our annual income. In 2005, the Libertarian National Committee (LNC) voted to discontinue paid memberships and UMP. In 2006, our monthly UMP payments were phased out. We no longer have this source of income and our monthly income has dropped significantly. In order to survive as the third-largest political party in Missouri, we must get better organized so that we can maintain relationships with our members and raise the necessary funds for our political activities. Fortunately we haven't spent much money in the last two years and have approximately $20,000 on hand. We can continue on as we have in the past few years and watch that $20,000 slowly dwindle away or we can put together a plan to try and use that money to jump to the next level. Introduction There are four major goals this strategic plan is designed to address. Other parts of this strategic plan such as the Communications Plan, the Missouri LP Office, Growing The Party and Measuring Success are the tools we use to work towards our goals. Increase Membership
Increase income from fund-raising
Increase Election Results
Greater impact on state and local issues and legislation
